1 Year Stats

I'm a little late posting but we went a few weeks ago for Presley's 1 year checkup and shots. Her stats: her weight is 26.5 lbs and 32 inches tall. They don't even bother giving me the % because she's off the charts. They show you the little chart graph thing with the highs and lows then there's my little red dot above the chart. We're hoping for a big basketball player :)

Presley can say mama, Tay (for our dog Taylor), kittykitty (not perfectly but it is a super high pitched tone and so funny to hear), bye bye and she'll wave, nana (this is no no), cheese (for the food cheese not pictures) and we think we may have heard dada a few times here and there. Tay is by far her favorite word and she calls for Tay all of the time. If Taylor is outside and wants in Presley is sure to let you know until you go let her in.

She likes to take a bath but hates to have you brush her teeth. She loves to climb on anything she can. If there is a chair you can bet she's going to try to climb up in it and probably try to stand. If she has something she thinks you are going to take she takes off running and laughing. She is very "talkative" she loves to jabber about who knows what. Once she learns more words I don't think we are going to be able to keep her quiet.

She has her top 2 teeth and the bottom 2. 1 of the ones by the front 2 is already through and the other side is almost through. So I guess that makes 5 teeth and almost 6.

I can not believe how fast 1 year has gone by. Seems like yesterday that we were at the hospital ready to have her and filled with excitement. Anyone who knows me knows how bad my memory is but when it comes to her for some reason I try a little harder to remember every small thing and treasure it. Brent and I have had a blast with her this past year and can't wait for all the fun things to come. She is coming to that fun age where you can see her pick up more and more things. She will play peek a boo with you and clap and dance to music. She entertains me for hours on end. I'm sure I could just play and play with her all day and never get tired of hearing her precious laugh and silly little smile. Now I know just what my parents felt for me and understand why they have done so much for me over the years. That's just what parents do - love your kids more than anything.

~The Main Event~

Thanks to everyone for all of the great gifts. Thanks to those who also mailed Presley something. I also want to thank the grandparents for so much help with the party, we couldn't have done it without your help and support.

We had the party at the Elkins Community Center and I am so glad we did since this crazy Arkansas weather decided to turn a bit cold and snow on us.

The pictures are posted a bit backwards, this is the last of the day after a quick change to get out of our cake covered clothes. Well not covered, she wasn't really interested in the cake but there was a little on her so I went ahead and changed her into the backup outfit.

I think she is getting this gift thing down pat and knows exactly what to do.

Presley helping with the candy from the pinata.

After a little assistance from the big kids the pinata finally breaks and they can have at the goodies inside.

The adults looking on.

We attempted a kid photo under it, well you see how well that worked.

She loves the bounce house. Thanks to Kasey and Tonette for letting us use it.

Dad takes a little time to play.

Her first test of Pizza. We're a little strict on the junk food and sweets so this day was a first for cake or pizza. Everything in moderation is fine we just don't think see needs candy and junk quite yet.

Yes, I did catch the string before it popped her.

Not so sure about the cake. I don't think she ever put it in her mouth she just wanted to play in it. I tried to have her test a little but she didn't seem to care for it.

The "smash" cake.

I loved the cake. We didn't do a "theme" just went for green and purple.

After the party we had to take a few pics in the snow.

Family group shot, minus Brent. I think he had forgotten the punch bowl at the house and had run back to get it.
We had a great 1st birthday. I do wish I would have taken her picture with more people. After I got home I realized we didn't have pictures of the people who came. Lots of you guys had cameras so if you have any good shots or ones of Presley with you can you let me know and I'll get with you so we can get copies.

Happy 1st Birthday

On Presley's actual birthday we had a little dinner and a yummy fruit "cake". We had to celebrate the actual day even though her party wasn't until Saturday. Brent's mom Janice and her husband Tim were visiting for the week so they were able to attend our little celebration as well as my dad, both my brothers and my granny. After dinner and cake we were all sitting around talking and there was a knock at the door................

My mom had driven up from Texas to surprise us all. I was so surprised and so happy she was able to come. She brought us a real pinata from Mexico to have at the party on Saturday.
