~Weekend Fun~

Just another day at the beach. We've had some pretty strong winds this past week from the tropical storm out at sea. We went out for lunch Saturday then stopped by the beach. Russ hasn't gone since he's been here so we decided to swing by and see how the water was. The red flag was out so we couldn't have gotten in anyway, but the water wasn't too bad.

We also got around to painting our little girl's room this weekend. The room was already purple, thanks to Dillon, so we left two of the walls the light purple color and painted the other two a light green. This will match the bedding stuff we picked for her. We didn't really want to do the typical pink so we went for purple and green. I think it turned out pretty well. I'll take more pictures as we get further along with the decorating. We haven't gotten a crib or anything yet so the room is pretty empty. Guess we have a few more months to get everything together, but it was good to get the painting part out of the way. Russ also helped, but by the time I got out the camera he was already cleaning up so he missed his photo opp.

Brent’s office decided to compete in the yearly costume contest. They went with the Gilligan’s Island theme. Brent was the millionaire – Thurston Howell III. I think they had a great time getting to dress up.

24 Week Update

Already at 6 months! Seems like the time is going by pretty fast now. Went to the doctor and everything is looking good. I have gained 13 pounds so far and the doctor said that was in the normal range. We are planning to paint her room this weekend so that should be fun. Brent's brother Russ is staying with us so he will be lots of help reaching the top of the walls. He's 6' 9" so no ladder needed. We've picked out her room colors and started a registry at Babies R Us and Pottery Barn Kids. Little by little we are starting to get prepared for our new little addition. The closer it gets the more real it seems to be. We have picked her first name, but are still in controversy over her middle name. In my family we all go by our middle names and we are thinking we will do the same for our kids. I guess maybe I decided this, but Brent doesn't seem to mind so that's what we'll be doing. Hopefully she will have a name by February, but the way things are going it doesn't look too promising. Picking a name is such a big thing and she'll have it forever so we want to make sure to pick a good one.

~The Pool~

Brent had some friends in town this weekend and as usual I forgot to take any pictures until the last day when Randy and Brent were in the pool. I'm sure everyone else is very disappointed that they won't make it onto the blog this time. I'll try to do better next trip. Brent and Randy had a great time playing with Taylor and getting her to jump in the pool after them.

~AR vs. KY~

Well what can I say....... this is Brent after the Arkansas and Kentucky game the other day. I'm sure most of you know how that game turned out. You can tell by Brent's smug face that KY took this one. I'm still standing by my Arkansas though. I may have married someone from Kentucky but that's not enough to turn me to the dark side.


So I drowned my sorrows in a nice desert from Brewzzi's after the big loss. We'll get'em next time! Woooooooo-Pig- Sooooooie- Razorbacks!!

~18 weeks- 4 days~

Here it is, the much requested picture of me getting fat. I'm not actually sure how much I have gained at this point. Last time I went (3 weeks ago) I had gained 4 lbs and the last sonogram they said she weighed about 9 oz. I've managed to still make it to the gym 2 times a week for my weight training and walking or swimming about 2-3 days a week depending on the weather. I have a good trainer that is experienced with pregnancy so I feel very comfortable working out as long as the doctors say it is safe. I get tired pretty quickly but I figure every little bit helps. We'll see if I can stay in that 25-30 lb range they gave me. As long as she is strong and healthy that's all that matters and I'll worry about the weight gain later.

~18 weeks~

Here is the photo from today. 18 weeks already! They said it was a girl again so I'm thinking we're pretty sure that's what we'll get. I'm glad to hear that I don't have to return any of the cute girl stuff I got on sale at the Gap the other day. They said that everything is looking good and that's all you really care to hear when you go, getting to know the gender is just a bonus. They took a good look today and said she has a very healthy looking brain- she must get that from me :) We have to go back next week to check a few other things that they couldn't get a good look at. She wasn't feeling very cooperative today and wouldn't let them get a good shot of the heart. Maybe next week she will feel a little more photogenic, being difficult already. She must get that from me also. I think Brent is accepting his fate of becoming a dad to a little girl and has accepted it quite well. He's over the shock of "Gibson's only have boys" and has moved on. I am very close to my dad and can only hope they will have that same bond. I'm sure Brent will be a great dad, he has been very supportive so far and I'm very happy that he has chosen to be so involved. More pictures to come next Friday!!

~Friends ?~

It has only taken a few years, but they have finally come to tolerate each other. At first Sydney would have nothing to do with Taylor and just run away. She would even avoid us, I think she was mad. She is just now starting to tolerate Taylor and knows she won’t eat her. Sydney is even starting to forgive us I think because she will now sit with us again and play a little. Who knew cat’s had such attitudes. I guess she figured out that Taylor was here to stay so she better just get over it. Peace at last.

Lately it has been so hot here we can only seem to make it out to the pool. The beach just gets too hot for us, not to mention all the yucky sand. We are quite lazy on the weekends and don’t do much other than hang out at the pool or maybe hit a flea market or two. Man I’m feeling old these days, but we have fun and enjoy the time off from work. I also manage to sneak in a few naps here and there while Brent watches whatever sport he can find on t.v. - talk about putting someone to sleep.

I’m ready for winter around here, it's just too hot.
