~Presley's 12 week photos~

I just got Presley's photos back from her 12 week photo shoot. Here are a few of my favorites.

I loved her photos and the girl who took them (check out her web page at justtoseeyousmile.com). We went to her house where it was very relaxed and no rush so Presley did much better than our first attempt at her 6 week photos at the regular store studio.
Maybe we'll be lucky enough to get photos by Elise before we leave town this Friday (hint hint) She takes some great ones.

~First "Real" Food~

Yum! Rice Cereal. I'm not sure how much she actually got down. Seems like most of it got spit back out all over us. She didn't really make any crazy face, just a little puzzled with the new texture I guess and trying to figure out the nifty spoon. I'm thinking I'll try to feed her in the bumboo next time since she kept trying to sit up more. The bouncy seat is quickly becoming a boring activity and way to reclined for our girl who never sits still.

~Big Catch~

Brent hasn't had the best luck fishing in the past but last fishing trip he reeled in a good size cobia. I've had a hard time keeping him away from the water and at the house to pack. I told him I was going out on the next fishing trip - if only I didn't get so sea sick I would be out on a boat in a minute.

4 Months

Presley is 4 months old as of yesterday and we just went for her 2nd round of shots today. For the record books:
  • She weighs 18 lbs. and 11 oz. and is 27" long.
  • She can roll over and loves to try to get away during diaper changes.
  • She is such a morning person and wakes up with a smile - nap time however is a different story and is a bit grouchy until she has had a minute to adjust.
  • She loves to squeal really loud and is a crazy jumper in the jumperoo - she will actually jump and jump until she seems to be out of breath and drooling everywhere, squealing and smiling the entire time.
  • Right now she is very much a mommies girl, when she's tired for sure. I'm sure that is a phase, but I like that she needs me.
  • She has green eyes - the doctor told us this was very rare for a baby to have that color right now. She was saying they usually stay blue/gray or turn brown if they are going to. She thinks since they look like mine already that they will probably stay that color. She looks so much like Brent I'm happy that maybe she'll get one thing from me.
  • She will reach for toys and turn toward our voice (if she's not busy). It's very cool that she will reach for our face or just out to touch us. Can't wait until she can hug us back.

She amazes me everyday and we are so in love with our little girl. She is a true gift from God and we are so blessed to be parents and work everyday to be the best we can for her. We know we'll make mistakes, but hope she knows we will always try to do what is best for her and we're trying our hardest. This parent thing is tough but so very worth every moment.
