6 Month Update Time

Presley had her 6 month checkup and shots last week so I have the new "stats" for the books as well as a progress update. She weighs in at 22.6 pounds and is 29.6 inches tall - needless to say she is off the charts for her age. The Presley can do list:

  • She can sit alone unassisted

  • Pulls to standing on EVERYTHING!

  • Transfers from the coffee table to couch walking and back and forth and back........

  • Crawls - army crawl and on all fours, she tends to switch back and forth.

  • Loves to crawl over Taylor(the dog) and play with her

  • Still breastfeeding but eats dinner of cereal a fruit and a vegetable - Gerber only no adult foods yet. We have started fresh fruits and vegetables a little at a time for her to try but she's not sure about the chewing part yet.

  • She has learned to cough and spit, so loves to do that. If you cough she will copy you with a cough then laugh.

  • She has a cute little laugh

Movie Time

Presley likes to have dinner then gets her "desert". I found this thing that you can put solid foods in to keep baby from choking. We've tried frozen bananas (she doesn't seem to like bananas yet), strawberries and apples in it but she really likes her after dinner "desert" of ice cubes. I just put an ice cube in it and she has her after dinner Popsicle while I clean up or empty the dishwasher. She usually sits nicely and sucks away.

As you can see in the video she likes to laugh when you sneeze and she has learned how to cough and spit. She is such a little lady.

1 tooth, 2 teeth .........

Here are a few pics of our new teeth! I'm glad they are finally in and she has been sleeping much better. She did really well with them I think. You could hardly tell through the day she just got really restless at night and would wake up every few hours. Seems like she is doing much better and may be on the way back to her regular sleeping pattern. For now anyway.........until the next tooth I guess.

~Welcome #2~

Tooth number 2 that is. We now have our bottom two teeth, number 2 is just a bit of white poking through the bottom right by the other one. I think they will probably show up in pictures now so I'll post soon.
Presley is pulling up to standing now and still doing the army crawl. Anything and everything she gets to she'll pull herself to standing. She can usually go back to sitting but I stay close just in case since she tends to think she can just let go. I'm not sure where she thinks she is going to go since she can't walk, but you can see her little mind working on figuring out the next step. She is so nosey and that is the fuel that gets her crawling, standing, climbing and going non-stop since she needs to see everything.
She goes back for her 6 month shots soon so I'll see what her weight and height is. The scale didn't make the move but we're thinking she is close to 25-30 pounds. No seriously she is a chunk and quite tall. Everyone thinks she is much older, they always guess 10 months or so.
For all those who care about her eating, I know you all do, she has made her way through all the fruits and vegetables and baby cereal and hasn't shown any reactions to them. We are still doing the breastfeeding and she'll eat dinner of cereal, a fruit and a vegetable. She only has had water to drink. Yes, I'm going to be one of those parents. We are going to try to do healthy foods and snacks for her and set an example by eating healthy ourselves. We're working on the healthy eating, slowly trying to change so by the time she knows what french fries and coke are hopefully we'll have kicked the habit. There is just so much childhood obesity and issues with the lousy eating habits of children and adults these days so we are going to try to give her a good start and then let her ruin it when she's in her teens with the candy and cokes - but at least we will have tried and she'll know the "right" way to eat. I'm sure we'll do treats every now and then-I'd be crazy to think she couldn't talk me into a desert every now and then :)
She is moving quick these days and each day brings something new. She is so fun and such a joy in our lives. She makes me smile and laugh everyday what did we ever do before?!
